Minas Gerais develops acceleration program for startups

The State Government of Minas Gerais has developed an acceleration program for entrepreneurs aiming to come to the state bringing their experiences and ideas to build something innovative.

SEED (Startups and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Development) acceleration program has the goal to transform Minas Gerais into the largest technological entrepreneurial hub of Latin America.

Investment in Startups

Based on the Seed Capital model – funding model aimed at business projects in the initial stage – SEED makes investments of up to R$ 80,000 with no equity required. The main goal of SEED is to contribute to the market expansion and to the emergence of new partnerships and business opportunities, placing Brazil and Minas Gerais on the route of sustainable and innovative technological development. There will be 40 startups participating in each six-month edition, both national and international.

All participants will have access to an inspiring space of coworking, well equipped and renowned experts from various fields of knowledge will mentor the teams during the program. In addition, it will be offered training and lectures by successful entrepreneurs to help the new businesses of SEED to thrive.

Innovation Norway is responsible for promoting the Norwegian industry abroad. Our office in Rio de Janeiro manages Innovation House Rio, our business incubator office, and helps Norwegian companies in their efforts towards the Brazilian market.
