Statkraft has completed the acquisition of all Jackson Group’s shares in Desenvix, which owns and operates hydro plants and wind farms in Brazil.

With the completion of the transaction, the Norwegian company becomes the project’s major shareholder with 81.31%. Funcef, the pension fund for the Brazilian bank Caixa, maintains its 18.69% shareholding.

The new company will be called Statkraft Energias Renováveis, which will be headquartered in Florianópolis. Its portfolio of plants includes 10 hydropower plants, two wind farms and several small-scale hydropower projects.

The company will also continue with its 100%-owned subsidiary Enex, which operates and maintains more than 90 power plants across Brazil.

Innovation Norway is responsible for promoting the Norwegian industry abroad. Our office in Rio de Janeiro manages Innovation House Rio, our business incubator office, and helps Norwegian companies in their efforts towards the Brazilian market.
