Petrobras said on Wednesday that Antônio Rubens Silva Silvino has been appointed new chief executive officer of Transpetro, the oil and gas transportation arm of Petrobras.
Silvino is currently an executive in the company’s refining division. He will replace Claudio Ribeiro Teixeira Campos, who had been running the business on a temporary basis. Former Transpetro CEO Sérgio Machado stepped down earlier this year amid the corruption scandal engulfing the oil company.
Transpetro is the downstream division of Petrobras and operates as a logistics, transportation and storage company for the oil, natural gas and biofuel industries. It owns 7,000km of oil and gas pipelines, 20 land terminals, 28 water terminals and a fleet of 55 cargo ships. The company was founded in 1998 and is based in Rio de Janeiro.
