The increasing demand for energy and fossil fuels is leading oil operators to seek offshore production in reservoirs far from the coast and in hostile environments. At the same time, new technologies for drilling, measurement, processing and automation are being developed opening up new opportunities for oil production and optimization. The effective use and integration of these emerging technologies during the oil field exploitation depend on the academic and industrial research.
To this end, this workshop promoted by IFAC, the International Federation of Automatic Control) will bring together equipment and service companies, oil operators, and academia in a forum where practitioners and scientists will present their ideas and recent developments. It is hoped that the discussions and exchanges will lead both industry and academia to more closely cooperate towards better practices for the exploitation of offshore oil fields.
The second edition of the IFAC Workshop will take place in Florianópolis during the period of May 27-29th. Read more information about the technical sessions and plenary talks by clicking here.
